Managing Editor Wins Second EMMY

Matt Orso, a graduating senior majoring in communication and concentrating in journalism, won his second EMMY award as an associate producer with MLB Tonight, part of Major League Baseball’s network.

Orso was the managing editor of the Pioneer Times this year.

The 37th Annual Sports Emmy Awards were announced by the National Academy of Television Arts and Science at a ceremony on Tuesday held at Lincoln Center. The awards included 40 categories, such as sports special, live sports series and playoff coverage and outstanding studio show (daily), the category Orso and the MLB Network team won.

The awards recognize outstanding achievement by individuals and programs broadcast throughout the 2015 calendar year.
