William Paterson is choosing the next dean of the College of Science and Health.
The candidates to lead the university’s second largest college include Dr. H.M. Tzeng, dean and full professor of Whitson-Hester School of Nursing at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville Tennessee; Dr. M. Ahmad Chaudry, chair and professor of the Department of Public and Allied Health at Bowling Green State University in Ohio; and Dr. J.P. Jin, the chair of the Department of Physiology at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
During the forums, the candidates discussed their plans to improve William Paterson’s state-low retention rate, such as adopting a more challenging curriculum and creating an open door policy for first-generation students who are struggling academically or at home.
The university has not announced when the next dean will be chosen.
