Victims of sexual assault are supported, honored, and empowered through the Clothesline Project, an event that acknowledges victims of sexual assault, sexual abuse in minors, and domestic violence.
William Paterson University is hosting its annual Clothesline Project in the month April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Attendees encourage victims to evolve into survivors by sharing their stories and receiving community support.
This support can be seen through displays of t-shirts that depict words or pictures to connect people together like a clothesline.
The Clothesline Project empowers individuals to break the silence wherever they are on their recovery journey. By putting these t-shirts on display in a public environment, it aims to give people the confidence and strength to overcome.
